The Alabama State Bar announced on Mar. 24 that its Lawyer Referral Service is temporarily unavailable due to a short-term operational interruption, with operations expected to resume in mid-April.

The temporary suspension affects individuals seeking assistance in finding legal representation through the referral service. During this period, the service will not be actively monitored and responses may be delayed.

While the Lawyer Referral Service is offline, those looking for an attorney are encouraged to use the Alabama State Bar Member Directory, which allows users to search for lawyers by practice area, location, or name. Additional legal resources can also be accessed at www.justice4al.com.

According to the Alabama State Bar, these alternative tools provide a direct way for people across Alabama to connect with attorneys while the referral service remains out of operation. The organization said it appreciates public understanding during this interruption and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

The notice about the unavailability of the service will remain visible until normal operations resume.
