Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the conviction of Tyrone Davis, 19, from Autauga County, for possessing a pistol with the intent to promote a criminal enterprise. Authorities identified Davis as a member of the “Cosby Court Cartel,” a street gang active in Autauga and Montgomery counties.
Davis pleaded guilty to knowingly carrying a firearm during a crime that aimed to benefit his gang. At the time of the offense, Davis was underage and illegally possessed the weapon to support gang activities. He was charged under the Alabama Criminal Enterprise Act and denied youthful offender status. As a result, he faces a mandatory five-year prison sentence without parole eligibility. Sentencing is scheduled for January 22, 2026.
Attorney General Marshall stated, “Armed gangs threaten the safety of every Alabama community, and minors who carry guns to support gang activity will now face real consequences. Working with the Legislature, we secured mandatory prison time for anyone who uses a firearm to benefit a gang. The Alabama Criminal Enterprise Act is one of the strongest tools in the nation, and we will use it aggressively to protect Alabama families.”
Marshall also acknowledged cooperation from local law enforcement agencies and federal authorities. He thanked the Prattville Police Department, the 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their roles in this case.
He further commended members of his office’s Special Prosecutions Division for their work on this prosecution. Assistant Attorney General Verne H. Speirs and Special Agent Todd Mims were specifically recognized for their efforts in applying the Alabama Criminal Enterprise Act throughout Alabama.
