A Birmingham resident has admitted guilt to charges of murder for hire, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.
Mohammad Mohammad, 64, of Hoover, Alabama, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala on seven counts related to the case.
Court documents state that in September 2024, Mohammad met with an undercover law enforcement officer whom he believed was a contract killer. During their meeting, Mohammad discussed the price for killing his wife and six adult children.
Each count carries a statutory maximum sentence of ten years.
The FBI conducted the investigation into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan S. Cross and William R. McComb are handling the prosecution.
