A Jefferson County resident has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.

Tyreses Katino Bosha, 25, of Birmingham, Alabama, received a sentence of 37 months from United States District Judge R. David Proctor.

Court documents indicate that the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Homeland Security Investigations were investigating Bosha’s involvement in narcotics trafficking in October 2023. As part of this investigation, on October 12, 2023, a confidential source arranged to meet Bosha at a restaurant to purchase half a pound of methamphetamine for $1,400. The confidential source waited in the parking lot until Bosha called and instructed them to move their vehicle behind the restaurant. After complying with these instructions, the confidential source met Bosha driver-to-driver and exchanged the money for the drugs.

Homeland Security Investigations and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Kirk prosecuted the case.
