Mobile man sentenced to 10 years for convenience store robbery

A Mobile man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for robbing a local convenience store. According to court records, Andre` Lionel Nettles, 40, was convicted for the robbery of a Circle K store in the Mobile area on March 28, 2024.

During the incident, Nettles wore a black jacket and face mask and pointed a gun at the clerk. Surveillance footage captured the robbery. Nettles broke a plexiglass case while stealing cigarettes, leaving behind blood and fingerprints. Forensic analysis later matched both his fingerprints and DNA to evidence collected at the scene.

After serving his 120-month sentence in federal prison, Nettles will be placed on supervised release for three years. He is also required to pay restitution and fines.

U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced the sentencing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Mobile Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys George May and Tandice H. Blackwood prosecuted on behalf of the United States.
