Two Montgomery residents have received federal prison sentences for illegal firearm possession, according to an announcement from Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson.
Stacy Rodrekus Calloway, 37, was sentenced on February 25, 2026, to five years in prison after being found guilty of possessing a firearm as a felon and violating his supervised release. In addition to the prison term, Calloway will serve three years under supervised release following his incarceration. Federal inmates are not eligible for parole.
Court documents state that Calloway was living in Montgomery in 2025 while on supervised release after serving more than twelve years in federal prison for previous drug and firearms convictions from 2013. On April 11, 2025, officers with the Montgomery Area Crime Suppression Unit stopped a vehicle after witnessing a traffic violation. Before stopping the car, officers saw Calloway throw an object out of the window; they later recovered it and identified it as a handgun. Because of his prior felony convictions, federal law barred Calloway from having any firearms. His actions also constituted a breach of his supervised release terms.
A passenger in the vehicle, British Tremain George, age 47 and also from Montgomery, was similarly prohibited from possessing firearms due to past felony convictions. Officers found George had a handgun during the stop.
Both men pleaded guilty on November 3, 2025, to being felons in possession of firearms. George received a sentence of twenty months in prison and three years of supervised release.
The investigation involved the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the United States Probation Office for the Middle District of Alabama. Assistant United States Attorney J. Patrick Lamb prosecuted this case.
“There is no parole in the federal system,” stated Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson.
